Sensory Brush

I don't know if this blog is going to turn into a blog on our experience with a child with autism. Or if I should create a new blog dedicated to that topic.

Maybe I'll save that for when I get to be a stay-at-home mother to be able to dedicate more of my time and effort on the care of my children.

Alhamdulillah for friends who have more experience in this. One of them pointed to me this brush. So today I remembered to ask about it from Asmara's occupational therapist. I notice she brushes her at the start of their sessions.

She sold it to me for RM25. She explained that:
- brush each part/side of her limbs (upper arms, lower arms, palms, hands, fingers, and likewise thighs, etc) outward 10 times
- brush her back in W strikes 10 times
- follow that up with joint compression
- ideally do this every 90 minutes.

I just googled this and found these references:

May Allah bless us all.

Beach

My daughter who will turn 4 in two months finally went to a beach. Alhamdulillah. I had been eyeing this beach because it's cleaner than the natural ones on the west coast. And she really enjoyed playing with the sand.
We all had fun Alhamdulillah.

Parental Love?

I am not sure if it's tragic but it's surely pitiful that a parent can be indifferent towards the needs of the child(ren).

I also feel that some people miss out on the joy of sharing simply because they are unable to see beyond their own wants and interests. How do you enjoy whatever you indulge in while they are watching and begging? May Allah protect me and my dearest ones.

The feeling of unselfish loving is too wonderful to be traded with endless what's-for-me's. And this opportunity is exactly what Allah bestow parents with. The children are the means with which such love can be perfectly expressed and manifested. MashaAllah.

Alhamdulillah.
